The City Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida, met in regular session
at the City Hall at 7:30 P. M. on the above date with the following present: Mayor
H. H. Raulerson, President Walker, Councilmen Chandler, Gardner, Harden and Rhymes with
G. C. Durrance, City Attorney and Lorena Spivey, City Clerk.
Minutes of the meeting held December 6, 1956, were read and approved as read.
The following bills were approved and ordered paid when funds are available:

A letter was read from David B. Lee, Director of Bureau of Sanitary Engineer-
ing, State Board of Health, stating that the City of 0keechobee application for a grant
under public Law 660 had been received and forwarded to U. S. Public Health Service in
Atlanta.
Councilmen Harden, Rhymes and Mayor Raulerson expressed their appreciation
as to having served the people of 0keechobee as Councilmen and Mayor also for the
cooperation shown by the other members of the Council during their term of office.
Upon motion by Councilman Chandler, seconded by Councilman Gardner and un-
animously carried the Council adjourned.

The incoming City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida met in reg-
ular session at the City Hall following the adjournment of the retiring Council with
the following present: Mayor Augley Dunham, Councilmen R. E. Chandler, Claude Gardner,
John F. Pearce, Franklin Walker and Jesse R. Watford with Lorena Spivey, City Clerk.
It being in order the oath of office was administered to Mayor Audley Dunham
and City Councilmen R. E. Chandler, Claude Gardner, John F. Pearce, Franklin Walker
and Jesse R. Watford by G. C. Durrance, Notary Public.
Councilman Watford moved to elect Councilman Walker as temporary Chairman,
seconded by Councilman O~nandler and unanimously carried. Temporary Chairman Walker
opened the meeting stating that nominations were in order for the election of a
President of the City Council. Councilman Pearce nominated Councilman Watford, nom-
ination seconded by Councilman Gardner and upon a vote taken, Councilman Watford was
unanimously elected President.
President Watford stated that nominations were in order for a President Pro-
Tem. Councilman Chandler nominated Councilman Pearce, nomination seconded by Council-
man Walker and upon a vote taken, Councilman Pearce was unanimously elected President
Pro-Tern.
President Watford appointed Councilman Claude Oardner as Chairman of the
Finance Committee.
Councilman Gardner moved to designate the Okeechobee News as official news-
paper for advertising for t he years 1957 and 1958, seconded by Councilman Chandler
and carried.
Councilman Pearce moved to meet on January 15, 1957, at 7:00 P. M. to re-
ceive and consider applications on all city employment, seconded by Councilman Gardner
and carried.
Rolland A. Sharp of Sharp and associates was present discussing progress on
sewer and water extension project. Stating that the plans would be to submit to
ready
the City Council on Jan. 15, 1957. The Council agreed to meet with Nr. Sharp at that
time and instructed him to notify robert L. Wagner of Leedy, Wheelr and Alleman
that the Council request his presence at said meeting.
Councilman Walker moved to accept a replat of Lots I and 2, Block 20, South
Okeechobee, as submitted b? Arlie Underhill, seconded by Com~cilman Gardner and carried.
Upon motion the Council adjourned to meet Jan. 15, 1957, at ~:00 P. N.

The City council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida, met in regular adjourned
session at the City Hall at 7:00 P. M. on the above date with the following present:
Mayor Dunham, President Watford, Councilmen Chandler, Gardner, Pearce and Walker with
Lorena Spivey, City Clerk.
Upon motion by Councilman Chandler the Council entered into Executive Session,
seconded by Councilman Gardner and carried.
The Council then came into open session.
