November 1, 1994November 1, 1994 Dear Mr. Jones: OKEECHOBEE BEACH WATER ASSOCIATION, INC. 8840 Highway 78 West Okeechobee, Florida 34974 -9787 813 -763 -3793 FAX 813- 467 -4335 Serving Customers in Okeechobee And Glades County Mr. Wayne Jones Director of Public Utilities City of Okeechobee 55 S.E. 3rd. Avenue Okeechobee, F1. 34974 RE: Tripp Mobile Home Park The engineer, representing the Tripp Mobile Home Park located at S.R. 78W and S.W. 16th. Ave., has requested public water from Okeechobee Beach Water Association. The Okeechobee Beach Water Association (OBWA) has a 6 inch and an 8 inch water main along S.R. 78W and a 6 inch water main along S.W. 16th. Ave. Since OBWA has existing water mains large enough to furnish the water for the project we plan to supply the water for this project. Since OBWA does not have sewer capacity for the development it would appear to be most advantageous for the City and OBWA to make a joint effort for this project. A joint effort will reduce the costs to the developer and to the family that purchases a lot within the development. Such an agreement would be the most cost effective expansion of both systems, which hopefully will be taken over by the Utility Authority. OBWA will read the water meters each month in order to calculate the water bill and will share the meter readings with the City or the City could read the meters in order to calculate the sewer bill for the customers. OBWA is willing to work with the City on a joint effort and by copy of this letter will notify the engineer and the property owner of this plan to provide water and sewer service to the project. Thank you for considering this joint effort and please let me know if you need any additional information. Yours Truly, C L.C. Fortner, Ur. Superintendent xc: Dwight Weyant John Abney
