SOUTH FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT WATER USE PERMIT APPLICATION Dear Ms. Smith: Missimer Associates, Inc., has prepared a water use permit application for the referenced Association. Per South Florida Water Management District requirements, we are requesting that the FDER review the enclosed application to determine potential impacts on public health by the proposed facilities. Currently, seven production wells are proposed for the Association's water supply. Five wells will be located at the main wellfield location. One additional well is proposed along the raw water main and one well at the proposed water treatment plant. Locations are shown on Exhibits 2 and 4 of the application. A minimum setback of 100 feet from all surface water and 200 feet from residential septic fields has been observed for production -well placement. Geologic, geophysical, and aquifer performance test data suggest significant confinement beneath the proposed wellsites. Two clay layers separate the pumping zone from the surface. Very little response was seen in water -table wells during the aquifer performance test. Copies of geologic and geophysical logs are included as Exhibit 6. Test results and impact analysis are included in the application as Exhibits 7 and 8, respectively. Additional wells are proposed around the perimeter of the main wellfield site with a minimum 25 -foot setback from the property boundary. We feel that due to the light residential and agricultural use of the land, and the confinement between the pumped zone and the surface, this represents adequate protection to the potable water supply.
