0609 Occupational License Fees ORDINANCE NO. 609
AN ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA,
FOR THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 10 -5 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA
AMENDING THE FORMULA FOR DETERMINING PARTIAL
YEAR OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE FEES; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the fees
to be paid for partial year occupational licenses should be
adjusted to fairly charge a business person for such periods
of time as he or she actually is in operation of such
business during the calendar year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for
the City of Okeechobee, Florida, that Section 10 -5 of the
Code of Ordinances be amended as follows:
SECTION 10 5 LICENSE EXPIRATION; limited to one year;
partial -year licenses.
All licenses shall expire on the thirtieth day of
September of each year. No license shall be issued for more
than one year, and for each license obtained between the
first day of October the the first Last day of April
October, the full tax for one year shall be paid except as
hereinafter provided, and for each license obtained between
the first day of April November and the thirtieth day of

shall be calculated by adding the number of months from the
month in which the premises to be taxed opens for business
through the month of September and multiplying that sum by
one twelfth of the full tax for one year for such license.
but in no event shall less than one twelfth tax paid for
anv license.
