0607 Millage Rate FY 1988-89 ORDINANCE NO. 607 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A MILLAGE RATE WHICH RATE IS SET AT 4.54 PER THOUSAND ON ALL REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY, PROVIDING THAT 4.15 SHALL NOT BE LEVIED ON HOMESTEAD PROPERTY: THAT 4.15 111 SHALL BE USED FOR GENERAL CITY PURPOSES AND .39, INCLUDING HOMESTEAD, SHALL BE USED TO PAY PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST ON GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS: THAT SAID MILLAGE RATE IS 1% LESS THAN THE ROLL -BACK RATE COMPUTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH F.S. 200.065 (1); PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The City Council of the city of Okeechobee, Florida hereby levies a tax of 4.54 per thousand dollars valuation on all real and personal property within the corporate limits of said city, provided however, that 4.15 shall not be levied upon property in the City of Okeechobee claimed and allowed as homestead in the general laws of the State of Florida. Section 2: That of the total 4.54 per thousand dollar valuation as designated in Section 2, hereof, 4.15 per thousand dollar valuation shall be used for general City purposes in carrying on and conducting the government of said City and .39 per thousand dollar valuation including homestead shall be used to pay interest and principal on general obligation bonds maturing during said fiscal year, such levy to be collected in cash and such cash so collected to be kept in separate accounts for the purposes designated herein. Section 3: The millage rate adopted hereby under by 1% the rollback rate as computed in accordance with Florida Statutes Section 200.065 (1). Section 4: That this ordinance was proposed, considered and adopted under the provisions of Florida Statutes Chapter 166 and Section 200.065.
