The City Council of Okeeohobee, Florida met in regular ses-
åion at 8 o'clock P. J(. on the above date and the tollowing were
present: H. H. DeYarman, President, Councilmen Albert Berka, H. T.
Bass and r~ W. Hampton and,Oounoilman-elect J. D. Bird with R. P.
;letcher, Clerk, L. W. Jennings and 'B~ L. Jennings, Jr., City
Ãttorneys in attendance.

Mayor T. W. Conely, Jr. being absent from the City, Oounoil-
man-elect J. D. Bird was swoen in as a member of the City Council
óf Okeechobee, Flotida by President DeYarman, acting mayor.

Councilman Bird nominated Mr. H. H. Hancook for member of the
City Oounoil, and said nomination was seconded by Councilman Bass

and Mr. H. H. Han~k was elected by unanimous vote.

Prof~ Henderson appeared befo~e the Council and requeste4 the
00unc11 to make an appropriation to defray the expenses of the High
School Basket Ball Team to the Basket Ball Tournament to be held
in Kiami February 29th and Karoh st.

Motion was made by Councilman B1rd that Council appropriate

1100.00 to defray the expenses of the Basket Ball Team w~11e attend-
ing the Tonrnament in Miami, and said motion was seconded by Ooun-
cilman Berka and passed by unanimous vote.
Motion was made by Councilman Bird that the Clerk be ~nstruoted
to notify the Southern utilities Company to place street lights at
the South-west corner of Block 10, So~th-west corner of Block 15,
and Seuth-east corner of Blook 15, Wright's First Addition to Okee-
ohobee, and said motion was seconded by Oouncil~ Berka and passed

Mr. Powell, representative of the Fenole Chemical Company, appear-

ed betore the Council relative to the Oounoil purohas1ng some Health
Guard Toilets.

Motion was made by Councilman Berk~ that Council purchase 50
Kealth Guard Toilets for the sum of 113.50 each and also 25 extra
pails and 12 lids, and said motion was seoondedby Councilman Ba8s
::, and passed by unanimous vote.
