AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY
OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA; AMENDING SECTION III, CHAPTER
18, ARTICLE I, SECTION 18-4, BY CHANGING THE TERM
"DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS" TO READ "DIRECTOR OF
PUBLIC UTILITIES"; AMENDING SECTION 18-25 BY CHANGING
• THE TERM "DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS" TO READ "DIRECTOR
OF PUBLIC UTILITIES"; AMENDING SECTION 18-28 BY
CHANGING THE TERM "DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS" TO READ
"DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC UTILITIES"; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA as follows:
SECTION I: Chapter 18, Article I, Section 18-4 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 18-4. Discontinuing water service for violation.
The director of public works utilities shall dis-
continue water service to any premises on which a
violation of this chapter or any rule or regulation
relating to the city's water or sewer systems has been
or is being committed. Such service shall not be
reconnected until the violation has been corrected and
until the consumer has paid a reconnecting charge in
the amount provided by Chapter 2, Article IV, Section
2-66, together with all fines and penalties.
SECTION II: Chapter 18, Article II, Section 18-25 and
Section 18-28 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 18-25. Supplying water to others.
No person shall supply water to others except by
special permission from the director of public works
utilities.
Section 18-28. Obstructing access to system appurtenances.
It shall be unlawful for any person to obstruct the
access to any fire hydrant, stop valve or other
fixture connected to the water system of the city,
by placing thereon or within ten (10) feet thereof,
building, material or any other obstruction. If the
violator neglects or refuses to remove the same forth-
with after notice being given, the director of public
works utiliti s may remove the same and the expense
attending the removal shall be paid by the violator.
SECTION III: This ordinance shall take effect as provided
by law.
