AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA; AMENDING CHAPTER 2 TO
ADD A NEW SECTION 2-5 TO PROVIDE AUTHORITY FOR AU-
46 THORIZED EMPLOYEES TO INCUR EXPENSES IN CONNECTION
WITH TRAVEL TO ATTEND CONFERENCES, SEMINARS AND
OTHER AUTHORIZED MEETINGS OF A PUBLIC NATURE; PRO-
VIDING REIMBURSEMENT FOR ACTUAL EXPENSES FOR MEALS;
PROVIDING MILEAGE AND ACTUAL ACCOMODATION EXPENSES
AT A SINGLE RATE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE it ordained by the City Council of the City of Okeechobee,
Florida as follows:
SECTION I: The Code of Ordinances of the City of Okeechobee, Chapter 2 be and it
hereby is amended to add a new Section 2-5 which shall read as follows:
CHAPTER 2
SECTION 2-5: AUTHORITY TO INCUR TRAVEL EXPENSES, MILEAGE AND REIMBURSEMENT
All public officials and other employees receiving authorization to incur travel
expenses may be reimbursed by the City Finance Office on the following basis:
Mileage shall be reimbursed at the currently approved rate per mile for employees of
the State of Florida and its agencies as amended from time to time. Meals may be
reimbursed in the amount of the actual expense substantiated by receipts therefore.
Expense for overnight accomodations may be reimbursed at the single rate of the
establishment issuing the bill. Travel by public conveyance, airline or other approv-
ed method shall be reimbursed in the actual amount substantiated by ticket receipts
or other appropriate records.
SECTION II: THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT AS PROVIDED BY LAW.
